The Hinged “Sharktrak” Wrap-Around Brace (K197) is a knee brace designed to provide support and relief for individuals with patellar tendonitis, recurrent patellar subluxation, or chondromalacia. It can also be used in the post-op management of post-lateral retinacular release. It is also an excellent brace for general post-op management.

BENEFITS:

The Hinged “Sharktrak” Brace has a unique wrap-around design for patellofemoral (kneecap joint) disorders. A dynamic pull tab "sharkskin" buttress applies individualized pressure around the kneecap to provide pain relief and comfort. The opening in the front of the knee is designed for both positioning and comfort. Two posterior closures with anchor tabs allow for easy application. 

This brace is made of 1/8” UBL one-side nylon, one-side neoprene. The brace features two lightweight, plastic hinges for very mild medial/lateral support.

The brace is designed to fit the left or right knee.

To find your perfect fit, start by measuring the circumference of your leg at three critical points: 6 inches below your kneecap, directly over the middle of your kneecap, and 6 inches above your kneecap. This brace is a great option for your patients who may be experiencing pain or discomfort related to their patella and/or patellofemoral joint. Your patients under postoperative care will benefit from the comfort and protection this brace can provide to the patellofemoral joint. It can also be used to prevent patella pain and reduce risk of patella subluxation in at-risk patients. 

Note that the hinges do not feature range of motion stops. Therefore, it is not recommended for early stages of postoperative recovery and rehabilitation where range of motion stops would be warranted.
